My Freesia is 18 years old. It has never been serviced but,I keep it clean and, I oil it as needed. It sews like a dream. Because it is older, I bought a Jade just in case an issue arose. Worse mistake in my life. Not only did it sew awfully it also sounded like a freight train! I traded it in for an Opal 670 which is awesome. And, I was given a Sapphire 930 as an engagement gift which is absolutely lovely to quilt on. I've made drapes and, many quilts as well as bridal attire chair covers etc. on these machines. They are good products. My only issue is trying to register the machines once purchased with the Viking company. If you kept the lint and dust out and, change
needles often, oil when necessary your machine will give great service and have long life. I sew every day.
P.S. Please DO NOT SPRAY THE CANNED AIR IN YOUR MACHINES, IT WILL CAUSE MANY PROBLEMS BECAUSE THE DUST WILL ADHERE TO THE OILED PARTS AND YOU'LL HAVE PROBLEMS. THE SERVICE PERSON WILL HAVE TO FIX IT!!!!!!
Use your little brush and vacuum.
