Stars 'n Stripes
by Sandra Wright
(Essington, England)
It's only 50" by 35" but this is the biggest quilt I have made so far. It's just 2.5" Half Square Triangles sewn together into red and ivory stripes, so I'm glad I found your tutorial on making HSTs eight at a time as it really helped me along!!
The blue starred fabric is a panel and the backing fabric is a lucky find from a quilt show I attended in Malvern, England. I ditch quilted it myself.
My partner has an old Chevy truck that he's renovating, and it's meant as a lap quilt to go on the long seat for when he takes his finished project to classic car shows. I put fabric triangles at the top two corners so it can be hung from a pole for display. I made it for his upcoming birthday, so I do hope he likes it.
From the Editor: Absolutely love this quilt! Fantastic work, Sandra!
