Southwestern wall hanging

I live in New Jersey. I have been suffering from depression for years. I told my therapist I like to sew and she gave me some t shirts to try to make her a quilt as therapy. They were a variety of colors, but the colors did not go well together.

So I picked three and went to Joanne's to find a color coordinating fabric for the background. I found only a piece of tapestry type material used for upholstering. It had a pretty complicated pattern.

I watched a few classes on Craftsy from Leah Day and bought a few of the things she recommended.

I met a lady in Joanne's and she saw my quilt while I was asking for advice on the color of the binding I should use.

She told me about a local guild. I took this to the show and tell and joined the guild.

Then yesterday I went to my first quilt show.

I am now officially hooked.
