Red, White and Blue Quilt

Red, White and Blue Quilt

The pattern is one of my favorites. It is called Sticks and Stones and I obtained it from Missouri Star Quilting's web site.

It is made from 2 1/2 inch strips.

I made it for Christmas for one of my sons who served in the US Army. I enjoyed making it, and I quilted it myself, as one of the first quilts I have done on my own longarm.

When I find something that works, I tend to stick with it, so I have made a number of quilts now from this pattern and really enjoy making them. I am a self-taught quilter with really very little experience so really appreciate hearing from others.

This is a beautiful quilt and a wonderful tribute to your Army son. I would hardly call it made by an inexperienced quilter.

Lovely RWB!
by: Beverly Randolph

Mirian, this is a beautiful quilt. I LOVE Missouri Star Quilt so I will have to go load that pattern. I like that it looks a combination of tricky and easy! I can see why you've made it more than once.

I am the Corpus Christi, Texas area representative for Quilts of Valor, and this would make a GREAT QOV! Maybe you'd like to make a QOV for someone else besides your son. If so, go to www.qovf.org (that's for Quilt of Valor Foundation) and you can see where to click to make a quilt, submit a quilt, request a quilt, etc. All the instructions are there.

Congratulations on this beautiful accomplishment!
