Quilting teachers in SC

How do I find teachers who will give presentations to Quilt Guilds in SC?

When I was the Program Chair for Pride of the Prairie Quilters here in Illinois, I used the Internet and Google to find the teachers I wanted to book. Nowadays, there's Facebook, too.

The nice thing about finding a teacher's website is usually they've posted their contract so that you can see what you're obligating the Guild to before you even contact the teacher.

Here are a couple of additional sources of names:

If you are new to the job for your Guild, be prepared. It's not usual, more rather the norm, that you'll need to book national level teachers more than a year (and sometimes even 2 years) out.

Another thing you may want to do is check with other Guilds in the state...reasonably close but not too close...you may be able to share a speaker AND the expenses without endangering filling your classes.

Good luck with your search.

Readers, have you been a Program Chair for your guild? How did you find your speakers? Just use the 'comments' link below to share your experiences.

Thank you.

Piecefully,
