Quilt batting by the roll

Where can I get the best price on batting by the roll?

When I need batting by the roll (and I always buy my favorite, Hobbs Heirloom 100% wool batting this way) I go to King's Men Quilting Supply of Springfield, Illinois.
King's Men carries a variety of batting, packaged as individual batts, in cases or on rolls. You don't need a wholesale number or account to take advantage of their prices. Nor is there a requirement for a minimum size order.
As of October 23, 2011, they carry the following kinds of Hobbs batting on a roll:
- 100% Cotton, Light Scrim
- 100% Cotton, Bleached
- 80/20
- 80/20 Bleached
- 80/20 Black
- Poly Down Plus
- Thermore
- 100% Wool Batting
Be sure to read their new shipping policies. As fuel prices have gone up, they have worked to keep shipping economical, which means they only pass on the actual cost of the shipping.
I have been happy with both their delivery and the condition of the batting that I've ordered.
When the box has arrived, I've opened it and let the wool batting 'breathe' for awhile before using it. It will looked like it's been 'squished' into the packing box, but wool is really resilient and puffs back up when given the opportunity.
Talk to your local quilt store...
I'm all for saving money—I like to re-invest the savings back into other quilting stuff!
But I recommend that if you are buying things on a roll that your local quilt store doesn't carry, do let them know what you're looking for.
Your local quilt store can be your best resource for information and supplies, but if they don't know what you're using...that there's a need in their market for it...they can't meet your needs.
In the meantime, to visit the King's Men website, go to:

Thank you for your question. If you do order through them, please let us know what your experiences are with their service by using the 'comment' link just below. That would be helpful to our other readers that see this page.
Thank you!
