My best friend, Sarah, had always wanted a picture quilt like the one at the end of the movie the Stepmom. So when I found out she was pregnant, I had the perfect gift.

I did not use a pattern for this quilt. I usually like to draw my own patterns but for this one I just cut squares and tried a bunch of different designs laying them on the floor (fairly small quilt).

I was also pregnant and was sick (and had prego brain) so I wanted to keep it simple.

I used mostly batiks and vintage type colors.

Pat sent me the picture squares which were amazing. The quilt was especially fun since Jon and Sarah have been friends since they were little kids, so I threw one of those pictures in there.
