Help Hurricane Sandy Pets
The pet-loving community of the East Coast of the U.S. has been badly affected by Hurricane Sandy. There have been lost pets, evacuated shelters, and loss of power. They really need our help!
I am an animal lover and was a disaster responder for The Humane Society of the United States. I have worked fires, floods, tornadoes and hurricanes. So when I saw all the devastation, I knew I had to do something to help.
I contacted The Quilt Pattern Magazine
www.quiltpatternmagazine.com and The Petfinder Foundation –
www.Petfinderfoundation.com and we joined together to help the animal victims of Sandy.
There are free downloadable quilt patterns for small quilts which is the "purrfect" size for most kennels and also shelter cage facilities for kitties. The quilts measure 12" x 18" and are so easy to make. You can download the directions and the guidelines here:
Also there is a list of the shelters where you may send your quilts. Please share the pictures of your kennel quilts with me so I may share them on my
FB pages.
I hope you will consider making some quilts for the animals. It would be a "purrfect" holiday gift!
Thank you for your help with this effort!
