A Star Quilt Pattern by Sisters' Quilting Trunk, LLC
I love stars and the color red! And this quilt has both in abundance!
While strolling the rows at the 2010 Minneapolis Quilt Market, I turned the corner and ran smack dab into this beauty.(Please do pardon my photography, the quilt may look a bit distorted but it is hung in the corner of the booth and accounts for the dip in the middle.)
If you are a quilter looking for a little piecing variety or a teacher with students ready to do something with a bit more intricacy or just a this quilt would be PERFECT!
Now the sisters who designed this star quilt smorgasbord (three of the four sisters' smiling faces are shown) are pretty clever. The quilt contains 13 different 12" finished star blocks. A 24" finished Lone Star quilt block sparkles as a medallion in the center. That's the quilt pictured and it finishes to 80-1/2" by 80-1/2".
But like I said, these gals are smart! They've also included a layout for a standard 3 by 4 block star sampler quilt that finishes at 64-1/2" by 80-1/2".
Do check out their blog for this pattern called appropriately, Heavenly Stars. And while you're there, check out their applique patterns, too. "Winter Memories of Christmas" is especially yummy!
