Baby Lock mid arm quilting machine

Does anyone have a Baby Lock Crown Jewel? Do you like it and would you recommend it?

In the meantime, you might find it beneficial to join the Home Quilting Systems group for yahoo.groups.com family.

This group is made up of quilters using all kinds of mid-arm and long-arm quilting machines. You'll probably get more advice than you need, (everyone has a machine that is their favorite) but it will be from users. And possibly users that have used more than one type of machine.

The best advice I can give is generic...try as many machines as you can in person...regional and national shows always have vendors with machines to try. These vendors are now starting to show up at our local quilt shows, too!

Look for a machine with a dealer near to you...good for both lessons and when problems occur. Don't forget to take the lessons. They'll shorten your learning curve.

Crown Jewel is a perfect name!

I have had a Baby Lock Crown Jewel for three years. In the past I hand quilted or hired a lady who had a long arm.

Having sewn and quilted for nearly 60 years, I feel that I can judge a machine well.

I love the machine. Mine is a Momentum Frame and I still learn a little more each time I use it.

Would I recommend one? Absolutely!

I have the Babylock Crown Jewel on the Pearl frame and I love it.

I recently took some longarm quilting classes at the quilt show in Paducah, Kentucky and we used the Handi Quilter.... It was exactly the same as my Babylock. When I mentioned this to the instructor I was told that Handi Quilter makes the Crown Jewel for Babylock.

Everyone I've met that has a Handi Quilter loves it...
