Carpenter's Square

by Kathleen
(Andover, MN)

After making a beautiful pink quilt for my daughter's wedding shower in Minnesota I made this quilt for her husband.

This quilt was to be opened at a second shower in Michigan. I have slept with this daughter before and know that she does NOT share quilts very well, so to prevent him from freezing I made him his own quilt.

Note from the Editor:

You can see the quilt Kathleen made for the first shower here.

Very Clever!
by: SueJean

Your color selection is wonderful as the quilt is beautiful, but not "girly" if you know what I mean. I find it hard to make "beautiful" quilts that would actually appeal to a man's tastes. You've succeeded in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing!

Double Wedding / Double Divorce
by: Brightin

It took over a year to make a Double Wedding Quilt for my niece.
Finally the day came, I was finished.
It turned out better than I expected.
I made a lunch date with my niece and presented the quilt to her.
I couldn’t wait to see her reaction.
Met with tears I thought she must have been overwhelmed by the gift, not so much.
Instead, she informed me she was getting a divorce.
I guess I didn’t get it done soon enough.

A wise mother-in-law!
by: Julie

Kathleen,

I've got to hand it to you. You're industrious, wise and generous.

A beautiful set of quilts to start off a marriage. Made with love. No better way to begin a new life.

Piecefully,

Julie
